FACES by Worlasi
The loss of a prolific figure in our lives leaves a void—one that often compels us to seek meaning in their existence and absence. Around the world, people have different ways of processing grief and understanding the impact of those who came before us. Personally, I believe that our loved ones never truly leave us. Their influence lingers, shaping our thoughts, actions, and daily lives. The practices they upheld, the behaviors they instilled in us, and the values they lived by continue to guide us long after they are gone.
It is important to acknowledge their contributions, respect their efforts, and do our best to preserve the legacies they built for us.
FACES serves as a reminder never to forget those who lifted us when we couldn’t stand, fed us when we had nothing, loved us when we needed it most, and, most importantly, were honest with us when we lost our way.
At times, I feel that my ancestors watch over us, longing for recognition, fearing that their sacrifices and hard work will fade into oblivion. I put myself in their minds and imagined their thoughts—their hopes that we continue what they started, that we uphold their values, that we honor their struggles by building something greater.
This song is my way of acknowledging them, of keeping their voices alive, and of reminding us all that we are who we are because of those who came before us.
